Pieter Marais

Operations Manager

Pieter Marais has worked in aquaculture for 10 years, gaining experience in the culture and production of abalone, oysters and marine finfish, and the management of farming operations in Saldanha Bay and Paternoster. Pieter holds a Bachelor of Science (Hons) degree in Aquaculture and is currently responsible for managing Viking Aquaculture’s oyster and mussel farming businesses in Saldanha Bay, and a project that is testing the adaptation of trout from freshwater to seawater. Pieter is also responsible for the abalone hatchery in Paternoster.
